Our favourite 8 Hunter Valley Wedding Venues right now.

1.Chapel Ridge
First up, I know it’s not in The Hunter Valley, BUT hear me out!
If you’re considering The Hunter Valley and your traveling from Sydney, stop half way at Chapel Ridge. Located just 15min inland from The Central Coast, this is at the top of my list for a reason. We are so lucky to be regulars at here, having captured over 20 weddings here. Despite having virtually taken up artist residence at Chapel Ridge we are constantly finding new and beautiful locations to use. We’re so grateful to be the preferred suppliers for Chapel Ridge, honestly if we could be here every weekend we would.
The venue coordinator Jade is an absolute gem! Her runsheets are seriously a work of art and her sunny vibes and effortless coordination of the day mean all of our couples have been relaxed and so well looked after. There are just too many good things to say about this venue! Book it, then book us lol.

2. The Sienna
Hot Damn, The Sienna has quickly become a favourite of ours. A new edition to the venues to choose from in The Hunter Valley and really suits couples who appreciate subtle grandeur. With a Tuscan feel, this venue feels like a European summer down under. As a photographer I’m spoiled for choice here, it is STUNNING. With accommodation on site as well (we love most venues who do this) logistics are a breeze and there’s plenty to do for the boys during the morning of - Pool table, Bar & a cinema room!

3. RedLeaf – Wollombi
RedLeaf is a photographer's dream! From the moment Katy and I first walked down the long, winding drive of Redleaf Wollombi, we felt like we’d been transported to another place—one that feels more like a serene Italian villa than a property nestled in the Hunter Valley.
The Tuscan feel isn’t just cosmetic—it’s atmospheric. From golden-hour light filtering through olive‑tinged foliage to evening candle glow dancing on stone pathways, every detail resonates with warmth and romance. We captured Sophie & Nicks wedding here recently and although it rained on their wedding day, you wouldn’t know it.

4. The Woodhouse Wollombi
This venue is a standout. The architecturally designed timber structure with soaring ceilings, vast windows, is so amazing to photograph. It’s situated in a valley so we are spoiled by that soft afternoon light that we love for quite a while as it sets behind the surrounding mountains.
That long afternoon feel is perfect for the garden party type wedding vibes. If you’re secretly wanting a fusion of a big black tie wedding with afternoon beers in the backyard, the Woodhouse is it!

5. Château Élan at The Vintage Hunter Valley
With its stately château-style architecture and manicured gardens, Château Élan brings a European feel to the Valley. I have no way of quantifying or explaining this, but… every wedding I’ve captured here has been lit! The party vibes are high and the dance moves are mucho creative! Check out one of my favourite wedding videos we’ve created that really explains this:
With a chapel and plenty of accommodation on site and situated within The Vintage (100 AirBnBs here) the logistics for a wedding here are a breeze! This is especially important if you’re aiming to keep things on a budget. Having Bride and Groom Prep locations close together is probably the-best-hack for keeping your photo & video coverage under control.

6. Greystone Estate
There is nothing like GreyStone in the Hunter Valley. Everytime I photograph & film a wedding here it’s just so-damn-good!!! The Open Air Pavilion for ceremonies is incredible and the stunning geometric architecture gives me all the excited goosebump feels when I look at it through the lens. We’re lucky to be regulars here, having photographed and filmed over 10 weddings here I instantly know where I want to hang the dress, do family portraits, take the bridal party & where to go for sunset. Also…the food!!!! Low key, one of the most amazing perks of being a wedding photographer is we get to sample some amazing food and trust me, this kitchen turns it on!!!

7. Dolton House Anambah
Combining old world charm with garden party chic vibes, this is one of my newest favorite venues. We’ve only captured one wedding here for Sophie Delezio & Joseph Salerno and I’d love to go back and do it all again! The gardens are incredible and Sophie & Joe had a great time, especially on the outdoor dance floor.

8. Bimbadgen Palmers Lane
Hands down one of my favourites, Bimbadgen strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and rustic charm. The architecture is purpose-built for weddings, which means clean lines and beautiful light—ideal for crisp portraits and sweeping group shots. It’s also situated in the perfect spot for sunset, with the mountains in the background and so much to work with on site. We find sunsets seem to last for ages here, with that beautiful cinematic soft light hanging around we can regularly be heard whispering “YES, AMAZING”, behind the lens.
Onsite accommodation is a bonus: it keeps logistics streamlined and gives me precious extra shooting time during golden hour. As well as having The LongHouse nearby which is my favourite for the bridal prep stage.

Why These Venues Rise to the Top
Natural Light & Scenic Texture
All of these venues deliver stunning natural light and textured backdrops—from Tuscan facades to epic modern architecture. As a photographer & videographer, I crave dynamic light and depth, and these settings consistently provide.
Versatility of Spaces
Each venue offers multiple settings—indoor/outdoor, formal/casual, wide open to intimate. This lets me craft a visual narrative that shifts from sweeping ceremony photos to close, emotional portraits.
On‑Site Accommodation & Logistics
Venues like Bimbadgen, The Woodhouse, The Sienna, and GreyStone Estate include accommodation, which means smoother timelines and more time for creative shoots—especially as the sun sinks. That flexibility is golden.
Vendor Coordination
Responsive venue teams (like at Chapel Ridge) make a huge difference. When the venue staff supports photography—by keeping spaces clear, timing transitions, or managing light—it reflects in the final images we’re able to create for our couples. The staff also play a big roll in how your day feels, Jade at Chapel Ridge, Billie at The Sienna, Takara at Bimbadgen and Imogen at Greystone all have a genuine love for what they do and it shows in the little things. From being the constant point of reference and advice for brides through to how the plates are placed on the tables and how friendly the barman is. These little details really elevate our couples experience and their guests experience as well.
Tips for Couples from a Photographer's View
- The preferred suppliers list is a great place to start! We’re really thankful our work is featured on all of these venues websites and socials and used as a starting point for couples planning their day. While you don't have to choose someone from the venue’s list, they’re there because they consistently deliver a good experience for their couples as well as beautiful work. They also know the venue inside and out, so if it rains on your day or the light fades quickly in the afternoon we’ll know exactly where to go to still get beautiful photos and video.
- Choose venues with stylistic harmony: A venue that matches your aesthetic vision ensures your photos feel cohesive—from soft romantic sunsets to bold European elegance.
- Opt for Versatility: Venues offering both sweeping landscapes and intimate details —like RedLeaf or The Sienna—translate beautifully in albums. They’re also really good if it rains on your wedding day, with amazing indoor options.
- Ask about lighting and timing flexibility: For example, late‑day sun filtering through The Woodhouse’s windows can produce unforgettable portraits. It’s also a great place to start with your discussions either with us or another photographer your choosing - Where is the best place for photos on sunset at Bimbadgen? What do we do if it rains at Redleaf? Are there more locations near by to GreyStone Estate that we could use on sunset? I love answering these venue specific questions with my couples.
